My first skirt

I was so excited to snatch up this bunch of fabric at the thrift store yesterday for a mere $2 and spent the whole ride home trying to decide what to made. I am still very new to sewing and don’t have all that much experience but I wanted to make something new. I figured I skirt wouldn’t be too bad and set myself up when I got home.

I tried using a tutorial on another blog I came across but got quite confused by it and was feeling a bit frustrated having cut out two pieces already and worried I wouldn’t be able to salvage it enough to start a skirt again.

So I decided to screw patterns and tutorials and just do a paper-bag style skirt the why I thought it should work and was even able to save enough fabric to not only finish a skirt but I still have quite a bit left over!

I must say… I am quite proud of myself:)
