Dressed down

Banana Republic Mad Men Collection Dress // Target Cardigan (thrifted) // Wanted Boots

Target Tights // Thrifted Belt & Scarf // Homemade Necklace

I’m not gunna lie, I’ve been eyeing this dress in my mom’s closet for a while now. She got it last year for my sisters wedding and looked adorable in it and I knew I’d have to borrow it at some point (here’s to the awesomeness that is being able to share clothes with your mama!). She lent it to me when I was trying to pick out something to wear to a friend’s weding this weekend but I ultimately decided there was just no way to hide how white this dress is, so I decided against it. But I figured that while I had it I might as well get a wear out of it, right?

It’s really adorable, but I knew I needed to dress it down to keep myself from looking like I was headed to a fancy cocktail party or something all day (since reality was that I was just running errands and doing not quite so fancy things!). I’ve had this little old man sweater for a while now and am totally in love (who else loves them some old man clothes like me?). It’s super warm and comfy and has big pockets and elbow patches! So I went for it. Not to mention the little acorn belt that I knew I couldn’t pass up at the thrift store a few weeks ago too. perfect additions bring things down a little bit.

I hate to talk about the weather (it seems like such a space filler sometimes) but seriously, two days ago it was 80 degrees, then the next morning we woke up and it never got above 52 degrees. Really? I am totally cool with fall, but my system is still in shock. However, I am enjoying having a roaring fire going every night and drinking lots of hot green tea, so I guess I won’t complain too much!

How was everyone’s nice long weekend?
