I got an early Christmas present yesterday – the chickens started laying eggs! You might remember we got new chicks this summer and were crossing our fingers that they were both girls. Well, we were lucky – they are! and they’re both big and beautiful now (I’ll have to post some photos soon!). I kind of gave up hope that they would start laying since now it’s been so cold so I forgot to check their nesting boxes this week. I was pretty shocked when I opened their boxes yesterday afternoon and one of them was overflowing with eggs! I’m pretty darn excited to once again not have to buy supermarket eggs.

I realize that none of this has to do with what I’m wearing, or anything really. But hey, some days ya just gotta brag about your chickens.
