Inspiration in the office | One Room Challenge

Well howdy-do and welcome back to my new little project for the One Room Challenge. Last week I kicked off this new little adventure and shared how my office looked when we first bought the house, as well as the original updates and painting we did. This week I’m all about the inspiration.

After years of this room being a dark catch-all, I’ve been super excited to brighten it up! To be honest with ya, since the One Room Challenge was originally supposed to happen a month earlier, some of these updates have already happened (and you may have spotted them on my Instagram). Regardless, I wanted to share the inspiration I’ve been referencing the most while working through the makeover.

Here are what has been catching my eye when thinking about the vibes I’ve been aiming for…

I really love the bright, but still really cozy vibes, and of course, lots of neutrals! I love the right photo and how it brings in a lot of warmth with darker wood tones, but still keeps the overall feel really airy and bright. I recently read somewhere that introverts crave neutrals more in their home. I’m not sure how studied that theory is, but I know it definitely makes sense for me. Especially for an office space, I love the idea of a calm, bright space where I can focus, and a lot of color like the blue that’s was in there (you can see the before’s here!) can be really distracting and overwhelming for me.

That’s it! Short and sweet this week, but excited to share my paint-picking process next Thursday, so definitely check back in!

This post is part of my One Room Challenge guest series. I’ll be posting new updates and progress on the office each Thursday through June 28th!
