  1. Beautiful! You are a really talented photographer–I just love your photos. Can I ask what type of camera you use and if you use Photohop to edit your pictures? I’m at the mercy of my iphone camera right now and have been starting to look around at buying a DSLR. I’ve also heard Photoshop Elements is a cheap way to edit without purchasing the entire Photoshop CS6 package. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated! Hope you’re having a great day!

  2. Thank you so much Kari! I updated to a Nikon D5100 last year and use that for all my pictures. I use photoshop CS3 for editing, but used Elements for ages and really, could have stayed with it – I edit very little (mostly I just adjust levels and add a little saturation and contrast) but I do like having CS3 for when I’m working on graphics and things. There’s so many great DSLRs out there these days and nowadays even the low level DSLRs (which I think mine is technically considered) insanely amazing and are generally way more camera then most people need anyway. I definitely suggest putting money aside when you buy a camera just for getting a good lens (I use a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 that is my baby, I adore it!). I chose my camera because it’s fairly light weight, compact and I can actually flip my LCD screen in so that it doesn’t get scratched if I throw it in my purse, since I tend to take it with me a lot of places, and I’m really glad I went with it. So just try to think of when you’ll use it mostly and what you might need from your camera – there’s so many out there these days, it’s like there’s a perfect camera for everyone:)

  3. So fun, I used to photograph bands when I was younger and loved it. I have to do a blog post about that someday…seems like a lifetime ago that I was in the photo pit with my press passes. Ha, now it’s mainly portraits of my toddler. ;)Lovely shots, btw…lucky friend 🙂 I’m sure she loved having someone who knows her capture this special time!
