Sometimes when I hear my more petite friends complain about pants being too long I just have to bite my tongue. When pants are too long you at least can get them hemmed. When pants are too short however, you can’t just add length to them. When I tried on these pants in the thrift store my heart sunk for a moment when I realized they were too short and just looked insanely awkward. Then I decided they were the perfect canidate to make into shorts! Since my sewing machine went back into storage again I just cut them straight across and rolled them up a little. Easy, and now I am totally in love!
Oh, and yes, I am totally wearing this hat again. I found it in the men’s section at target last week and cannot get enough of it. Hats are the best.
I buy my pants “long” since regular ones are too short on me. 🙁 My husband is shorter than me by three inches and he cuffs his pants. We’re quit a pair haha.I recently made a pair of orange pants into shorts too! yey!
I have a pair of jeans I thrifted and they fit beautifully … despite being about 3 inches too short 🙁 Now I just cuff them so it looks like I meant for them to be above the ankle 😉 I’ve also hacked up old jeans to repurpose them into shorts (https://whatnomints.wordpress.com/2012/06/29/diy-cuffed-shorts/) – I just can’t throw a good-fitting pair of pants away!! Love the orange color on these!
Gasp! That is a men’s hat? I absolutely love it! The wide brim is so in style right now and this one is perfect. I love that you made your pants into shorts! Even though I’m not tall I still have problems with pants being too short and cutting them off is so easy and makes them 100 times more wearable.Also, wearing a belt as a bracelet is genius, may have to steal that one from you 🙂
Cute shorts! I’m in favor of projects I can do with scissors. I’ve finally made peace with my sewing machine but the house is in upheaval with packing (I know you can relate) and scissors are all the complexity I can handle right now!

Hats are the best! You look so cute in yours. I have the same trouble with pants– I’ll have to turn some of my thrifting rejects into shorts!
